JUNIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER

(Trainee in Electrical Safety Testing)

EMC Technologies is the largest NATA accredited EMC, EMR, SAR and Safety laboratory in Australia, with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland. Due to the expansion of our the range of compliance testing and assessment services, a new position has been created at our Sydney offices located at Unit 3, 87 Station Road Seven Hills NSW 2147.

The person we are seeking is a Junior Technical Officer-Electrical Safety to assist in testing electrical/electronic products to Australian and International Safety Standards. The types of product include Information Technology, Electronic Instruments, electrical appliances and White Goods.

You should have, or be nearing completion of the Electrical trade’s course, Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Electronics and Communication. You should have a sound knowledge of Ohms Law and general electrical/electronic theory and practice, plus the ability to use electrical/electronic test equipment.

On the job training will be provided. A basing understanding of physical and electrical safety is desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant must have a good command of English with the ability to prepare technical reports. Also essential are good written and verbal communications skills including basic computer skills.
The successful applicant must be self motivated, be a team member, be able to work alone, to work with clients and to be customer focused. An eye for detail and the ability to adhere to detailed test procedures is essential. Some travel may be required infrequently.

Salary-Remuneration

Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
