Electrical Safety Compliance - Australia

The move to new and larger premises in Seven Hills has allowed EMC Technologies (Sydney) to greatly increase the scope of Safety Testing and now includes IP testing (water ingress). The NATA scope of accredited safety testing will include a broad range of products including:

Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and R&TTE Directive - Europe

As part of the above accreditations EMCT is able to provide NATA reports to the European equivalents (where applicable) allowing local manufacturers to comply with the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD). The LVD covers electrical equipment designed for use with a voltage rating of between 50 and 1000 V for alternating current and between 75 and 1500 V for direct current.

The R&TTE Directive also requires compliance with the applicable safety standard, usually EN60950. Safety testing of devices under the R&TTE Directive is applicable to virtually all devices even battery operated devices.

With many years of experience in radio and telecoms approvals, and testing capability covering EMR, SAR, EMC, Safety plus ETSI standards, EMCT can now provide a one-stop-shop for the approval of radio-transmitter products to the European R&TTE Directive. The major expansion in facilities and capabilities underscores EMC Technologies commitment to providing a "test once for global markets" service.

Degree of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)

A chamber that can fit different oscillating hoops. An enclosure is placed inside the chamber and water is sprayed from the oscillating hoop for testing the ingress of water.

Together with other test equipment, EMC Technologies is able to test IP Code up to IP48.

The facilities are being constantly upgraded so if your requirement is not listed, please call us anyway. If we can't provide the test, we'll recommend an alternative.

NATA accreditation to AS1939, AS60529 & EN60529 is pending.

Environmental Chambers

Enable testing of product under severe environmental conditions:

Flammability test of plastics

Glow wire tester up to temperature of 850°C for testing of different plastics.

Common test for major safety standards.
