EMC Technologies AccreditationsNot All NATA Test Houses are the Same. There is an important difference between NATA/IANZ accredited. Advantages of Using NATA or NATA MRA Partner Accredited Testing by an accredited to ISO Guide 17025 by NATA, IANZ or a MRA partner laboratory is the safest way of proving compliance. NATA or IANZ endorsed reports are acceptable by the ACA and most of Australia’s trading partners including the EU countries.
Testing and Inspection AccreditationsTesting to ISO/IEC 17025 EMC Technologies was the first EMC test house in Australia to achieve accreditation to the international testing laboratory competency standard ISO/IEC 17025. We have set the standard for accreditation which covers the widest scope in Australia/New Zealand. Unlike other labs, our wide scope of NATA accreditation will give you NATA accredited report for all major C-tick and CE emission and immunity standards. The scope also includes RF EMR, SAR. Wireless, Safety, Mil-STD461 and shielding. Inspection / Modeling- EMC and Predictions Compliance Our NATA accreditation for inspection to ISO/IEC 17020 (EN45004) includes designation by the European Commission as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) to assess TCFs for products against the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC, and a Competent Body for C-tick product assessment. The scope also includes EME/EMR modeling and predictions to the ACA EMR License Condition Determination (LCD) and aspects of the ARPANSA standard. EME Modeling is a convenient and low cost means of compliance for simple transmitting antennas and installations used in the telecommunications industry. A NATA endorsed prediction report is your guarantee of competency and the lowest risk route to compliance. What Is NATA/IANZ Accreditation?NATA accredited test facilities meet the requirements ISO17025, demanding full calibration traceability of measurement equipment to the national standards at the National Measurement Laboratories (NML), and thereby to international standards. EMCTs accredited test labs have been thoroughly evaluated by NATA or IANZ and accredited as meeting internationally recognised standards for good laboratory practice, the availability of the necessary test facilities, an adequate level of technical competence and the appropriate quality management systems. A NATA endorsed report gives the highest confidence in technical competency and in the reliability of the test results. The benefit to the manufacturer and importer is that it effectively eliminates the need for products to be retested in another country and helps keep manufacturing costs and time-to-market lead times to a minimum. Some labs have a very limited accreditation, the scope of which may exclude parts of the standard or may not include all referenced emission or immunity standards. Clients should ensure that the report they will receive will be NATA endorsed (i.e., covered by the scope of accreditation). Non-accredited testing should be avoided as there is no guarantee of the competence of the testing or the accuracy of the results. The use of non accredited testing is cheaper, but in practice it is rejected by regulators in the event of a dispute. Risks of Non-NATA (Non-Accredited) TestingAccredited testing will minimise the risk of personal and corporate liability should a dispute arise with the regulatory agencies or your client. The ACA accepts NATA test reports as a bench mark for claims of compliance. Non-accredited testing has an unacceptable risk of non-compliance and a higher possibility of interference occurring. If, for any reason, a product is found to be non-compliant, the supplier and the individual making the declaration, may be exposed to criminal sanctions or civil and legal liability. The use of NATA testing provides the best possible protection of a "due diligence" defence to the person signing the declaration of conformity. Worldwide RecognitionNATA has established mutual recognition agreements (MRA) with most countries’ accreditation agencies. Our NATA endorsed reports are acceptable in all European countries and most other countries around the world. NATA MRA partners include the USA, Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore Korea and all European Union (EU) and EFTA countries, including:
