EMC Technologies is seeking Electrical/Electronics Engineers or Technical Officers to work in the EMC or EMR fields in our Seven Hills (NSW) facilities. Candidates with experience in both fields will be favourably considered, however a traineeship may be offered to candidates showing good potential.

The NATA accredited EMR facilities provide EMR measurement and prediction services to AS/NZS2772 and the ARPANSA standard on antennas and RF transmitters. NATA accredited EMR/EME engineering prediction services are performed using sophisticated EME prediction software especially developed in-house.

Position Description
The person we are seeking will have:
- a self motivated professional approach with a high level of commitment to customer focus and an ability to meet deadlines.
- the ability to work as part of the EMCT team and to work alone when required.
- relevant experience in EMC or EMR or both and/or tertirary qualification in Electronics and communications.
- the ability to use state-of-the-art test and measuring equipment such as Agilent and R&S to make complex RF measurements and the ability to use automatic test software packages for laboratory and field measurements.
- the ability to write accurate technical reports is essential, as well as good verbal and written communications skills.
- knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, NATA Rules and/or quality procedures.
- knowledge of EMC/EMR standards and regulations such as ARPANSA, CE, FCC, VCCI, C-tick & ACMA etc
- the ability to work on site at various locations including commercial, industrial, medical environments.
- the ability to work at heights is preferred but not essential. Appropriate OH&S training will be provided.
- the ability to diagnose and fix EMC or EMR problems.
- a commitment to further professional development in these fields.
- a good working knowledge of RF test instruments, personal computers, windows operation systems, including Mircrosoft Office applications and automatic testing software.
- a current driving license and the able to drive a manual vehicle.
To ensure that EMCT provides the highest possible standard of professional services, EMCT trains staff through regular internal training courses and courses conducted through academic institutions, commercially operated courses or overseas training courses and seminars as appropriate for the position.

EMC Technologies is the largest NATA accredited EMC, EMR, SAR and Safety testing laboratory in Australia. Due to an expansion in our range of compliance testing and assessment services a new position has been created at our Sydney labs located at Seven Hills. The person will work in electrical safety but may also need to assist in the EMC testing areas. We are seeking a junior person to assist in testing electrical/electronic products to Australian and International Safety standards. Types of products include Information Technology Equipment (ITE), electromedical equipment, electronic instruments, electrical appliances and white goods. You should have or be nearing completion of the Electrical Trade's course, or advanced Certificate or diploma in Electronics and communications. You should have a sound knowledge of Ohm’s Law and general electrical theory and practice, plus the ability to use electrical/electronic test equipment. You should be able to drive a manual van and have the appropriate license. A basic understanding of physical and electrical safety is desirable but not essential.
