ACHIEVES NEW ACCREDITATIONS and
ACQUIRES NEW TEST EQUIPMENT

IANZ accredited us for testing to ETS 300 220, 300 330 and 300 683.

These 3 standards cover the transmitter and EMC requirements for low power transmitters operating between 100 kHz and 1000 MHz which are destined for Europe.

With the introduction of the RTT&E Directive from April 7th, 2000 EMC Technologies NZ Ltd will be able to carry out all of the required RF testing before the product leaves for Europe. If the product requires electric safety testing in addition this can be arranged.

Recently we purchased several pieces of new test equipment including a flicker and harmonic test box. This will enable us to test to EN/IEC 61000-3-2 which covers mains harmonics and EN/IEC 61000-3-3 which covers voltage flicker.

For products going to Europe these standards will be mandatory from the 1st of January 2001 for all products that draw less than 16 amps.

Presently we are offering a non accredited service, but for Europe this will be adequate.

The date of presumption of conformity for the old, 1992, version of EN 50082-1 has passed ( 1st July 2001). This means that if you originally got your product into Europe using the 1992 version of EN 50082-1 you will have to get your product retested to the new 1997 version if you still want to keep selling the product in Europe from the 1st of July 2001.
