The Federal Department of Industry, Science and Resources in association with the Delegation of the European Commission to Australia and New Zealand
is hosting
ONE DAY SEMINARS
on
The New Trading Opportunities offered by the
Agreement on Mutual Recognition in relation to Conformity Assessment Certificates
and Markings between the European Community and Australia for Australian Exporters.
Sydney 1999
Melbourne 1999
What the Agreement means for Australian Exporters
Increasingly, products placed on the European market must display the CE mark before they can be sold. If your company is planning to export goods to Europe, the Agreement offers you an opportunity to have your product assessed to meet European requirements without having to send your product to Europe or use an Australian agent of an overseas body thus saving both time and money.
Compliance with the requirements of relevant EC Directives can be established in Australia by bodies designated under the Agreement and the CE marking applied to the product prior to export. In this way the product can be placed on the market with no further intervention by EC authorities.
The MRA covers the following industry sectors: medical devices, pharmaceuticals good manufacturing practice, telecommunications terminal equipment, automotive product, electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage electrical equipment, machinery and pressure equipment.
