Experienced Wireless/Radio/RF Test Engineer

We require an experienced EMC/Wireless/Radio/RF Test Engineer at our Keilor Park, Melbourne test laboratories. This interesting work involves testing and certification to Australian and international Wireless, Radiocommunications and RF standards using sophisticated instruments and facilities. New and imported products are tested for compliance with Australian and international regulations such as RCM, CE marking, FCC, IC and MIC rules using spectrum analysers, EMI receivers, anechoic chambers and CISPR Open Area Test Sites. Most work is carried out in accordance with NATA accreditation to ISO 17025. You will be working with engineers (customers) to test their new designs so that compliance and certification is achieved on final manufacture.

The ideal candidate is likely to have the following experience:

  • An Electronics or similar engineering degree or diploma;
  • FCC part 15B and 15C testing and certification; 
  • CE testing for EMC (Emissions and Immunity) and RED compliance;
  • ISED (previously Industry Canada) testing and certification;
  • A sound knowledge of relevant standards including ANSI C63.4, ANSI C63.10, CISPR 16 series, CISPR 32, EN/IEC 61000 series;
  • Experience with the use of EMC test equipment (Harmonics and flicker, ESD Simulator, Transient generators);
  • Use of key RF test equipment (Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers, Power Amplifiers);
  • Testing in Open Area Test Sites, Semi-Anechoic chambers (SAC) and Shielded Rooms;

The successful applicant must also have:

  • A strong customer focus and the ability to work and liaise closely with customers on a continual basis;
  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to adhere to detailed test procedures;
  • The ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, work alone and as a team member.
  • A very good command of English (both written and oral). 
  • The ability to write accurate technical reports is essential, as well as good verbal and written communications skills. A written test may be requested if IELT certificate is not available.

Australian Citizenship is highly desired as Australian Defence clearance may be required. As a minimum you must be a permanent resident. We will not consider Visa sponsorship but we may offer some support to an experienced applicant.

The salary is negotiable based on experience and includes superannuation of 9.5% deposited monthly into a government approved fund of your choice plus the benefits under the company bonus scheme and RDOs.

IT and online digital services support

EMC Technologies is the largest and most NATA accredited EMC, EMR, SAR and Safety testing laboratory in Australia and New Zealand. We require a highly skilled and experienced IT officer to support company wide IT services and manage our online digital advertising and marketing campaigns (SEO/SEM/Social Media/Website). EMC Technologies has branches in Melbourne (Keilor Park, Bayswater), Sydney (Seven Hills), New Zealand and Japan.  

You must have a suitable degree in IT. A marketing degree is an advantage.

The successful applicant must have:

 • A good command of English, written and oral. A test may be given if an IELTS certificate is not provided.

• Advanced IT skills including management of network servers and associated IT systems,  email servers, SQL server, CRM (Customer Resource Management), QMS (Quality  Management Systems)

Electrical Technician/ Technical Assistant

EMC Technologies is the largest and most NATA accredited EMC, EMR, SAR and Safety testing laboratory in Australia and New Zealand. We require an electrical technician to assist in the compliance testing of electrical products in our Keilor Park laboratories.   You will also be required to perform general duties such as packing/unpacking, photographing and logging customer’s equipment, arranging despatch of equipment and dealing with couriers, assisting with office reception as required, and general maintenance.

Ideally, you will have a forklift licence but training can be provided if necessary. A current manual driver’s licence is essential.  

You should have, or be nearing completion of an electronics or similar electrical trade.

The successful applicant must have:

 • A good command of English, written and oral. A test may be given if an IELTS certificate is not provided.

• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office

• A strong customer focus and the ability to work and liaise closely with customers on a continual basis.

• A good eye for detail and the ability to adhere to detailed test procedures.

EMC Engineer EMC/EMR Testing and Assessments – Trainee

EMC Technologies is the largest and most NATA accredited EMC, EMR, SAR and Safety testing laboratory in Australia and New Zealand. We require an engineering graduate/near-graduate with formal studies in RF/electromagnetic theory to perform EMC and wireless/radio testing as well as the  review of customer’s technical documentation for regulatory compliance purposes.

Initially, you will be trained to assess customer’s technical documents in support of their product’s compliance with Australian and International EMC and EMR standards and regulations. Much of this work is carried out within our NATA scope of accreditation to ISO 17025 and ISO 17020.

You will then advance to work involving testing to Australian and international EMC/RF standards using sophisticated instruments and facilities. New and imported products are tested for compliance with Australian and international regulations such as RCM ( formerly C-tick & A-tick), CE marking and FCC rules using spectrum analysers, EMI receivers, RF amplifiers, specialist EMC test equipment, anechoic chambers and CISPR Open Area Test Sites. Most work including RF testing and calibration is carried out in accordance with NATA accreditation to ISO 17025 (Testing and calibration). You will be working with engineers (customers) to test their products and their new designs so that EMC compliance is achieved.

Training can be provided for the suitable applicant, but a knowledge of RF and electromagnetic theory will give you an advantage.
