Its an end of an era for EMC Technologies, with Chris Zombolas retiring after 29 years. Chris started EMC Technologies in 1992!
His one-person business quickly grew to a two-person business with Stephen Philips, and the rest is history.
Since starting the company, EMC Technologies has employed over 200+ engineers and given many employees their first job or an opportunity in a professional engineering company. Chris has given employees opportunities to develop, study, migrate/re-locate and take on challenging roles with a true Aussie spirit of giving everyone a fair go.
Chris was diligent in keeping up with not only the Present but foreseeing and preparing for the Future, a trait that has always kept EMC Technologies ahead of competition. Chris always enjoyed staying up to date with the latest technologies and advancements in testing and product compliance regulations. This is reflected in the knowledgeable team and world-class testing facilities that Chris has established.
It has been a momentous journey, Chris has now decided to hang up his ferrites (retire) and handover the running of EMC Technologies to the excellent management teams across all Branches headed by Shabbir Ahmed. Shabbir will take over as the CEO of the EMC Technologies Group and assume all responsibilities currently held by Chris. Chris’s last day as Managing Director will be on the 30th of June 2021. This means Shabbir’s first day as CEO will be the 1st of July 2021. Chris will gradually handover responsibilities to Shabbir during this period. Nothing else will change.
Chris will remain a Director of EMC Technologies Group along with Kevin Ng and Nick Zombolas. Stephen Phillips is not going anywhere. Steve has got quite a few more years of service left in him. Steve will become the longest-serving member of EMC Technologies’ experienced team. The company has never been operating as well as it is now, and the Directors are confident that the company will continue to prosper and grow under Shabbir’s leadership.
