All telecommunications devices connecting to a network require RCM testing (formerly A-tick) and approvals. This involves specific network testing, safety testing to AS/NZS 60950, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing and certification. We can provide all services in house with the exception of specific network testing which can be arranged through a partner laboratory.
On 12 December 2018, the Telecommunications (Labelling Notice for Customer Equipment and Customer Cabling) Amendment Instrument 2018 (No. 1) removed requirements for the use of Recognised Testing Authorities (RTA), more information can be found on the NATA website. EMC Technologies was a Recognised Testing Authority (RTA) and also an ACMA Telecoms Certification Body for the certification of mobile phones, modems and similar devices. As such you can rely on our specialist technical knowledge and experience.
We can offer a comprehensive NATA accredited testing service for the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme in Victoria and the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) in NSW. These schemes mandate NATA accredited electrical safety testing, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing, and Lamp Circuit Power (LCP) testing. Devices that have been submitted for complete RCM testing and certification have most of the VEET/ESS/IPART requirements covered automatically.
LCP (Lamp Circuit Power)
NATA accredited Lamp Circuit Power (LCP) testing services are available. This test is required as part of the VEET and ESS/IPART schemes for lighting equipment. Testing is performed in accordance with the latest editions of the Explanatory Note for Commercial Lighting. LCP testing is unique to these schemes and not an RCM testing requirement.
Energy Rating (MEPS testing)
Prescribed articles must meet Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and be registered with a state body. We can offer a complete NATA accredited MEPS testing and registration service.
Antenna performance characterization services are available such as measurement of Antenna gain, Antenna factor, VSWR or Return loss measurements, Polar plots and Power output. These RF parameters can be measured in our highly accurate anechoic chambers (iOATS facilities).
